Volunteer receives award
KerbSafe volunteer, Susan Freeman, will receive a special award during a school assembly for doing her bit to help youngsters learn important lessons about road safety.
KerbSafe is a scheme run by Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit, which teaches children about how to behave on or near busy roads.
Volunteer Susan, who has been helping children from St Nicolas School in Nuneaton for a number of years and has been involved in six KerbSafe courses, will be awarded a Diamond Award certificate for her commitment.
Stan Milewski, Senior Road Safety Officer at Warwickshire County Council said: “Not only am I delighted to have Susan on our team of volunteers, but I’m impressed with her enthusiasm for community issues – particularly road safety. With her support, and that of other volunteers, we have been able to deliver a valuable learning opportunity to the children of Nuneaton.”
