19 years with no sickness
Warwickshire County Council employee Elizabeth Burdett is retiring next week after nineteen years service without a single day off ill.
Elizabeth will leave her job as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the Stratford District Older People and Physical Disability Team in May. Nineteen years service is a great achievement but to work this length of time without ever taking a day of ill is a record that is hard to beat.
Elizabeth is a keen violin player and travels extensively as part of a band.
“I sing and play a violin and take part in a variety of musical activities. I am an active member of the local church & W.I. I used to make my own clothes and hope to have time to start dress making again. I am also planning to spend more time in the garden and practicing on my violin. Invitations to take part in local daytime activities are already arriving. When all else fails I am happy to read for hours at a time.”
Lesley Rowbotham, Team Leader for Stratford Older People and Physical Disability Team said:
“Elizabeth’s exemplary sickness required is a credit to her dedication and commitment to her work. We all wish her well for her retirement.”
