Council staff notch up 1,000 years service

A treat has been served up for more than 40 Warwickshire County Council staff who between them have worked more than 1,000 years for the local authority.

Former tennis ace, Annabel Croft, was on hand to praise the staff for their 25 years service with the county council.

Staff from a range of jobs including teachers, firefighters, carers, social workers and registrars joined the leader of Warwickshire County Council, Cllr Alan Farnell and the Chairman of the County Council, Cllr Marion Haywood to meet Annabel, who presented the awards, at Royal Leamington Spa Pump Rooms.

Speaking at the awards, Cllr Marion Haywood, in one of her first official duties since assuming the role of Chairman of the County Council said: “Warwickshire County Council has been very fortunate to have staff such as these who have shown tremendous dedication over the years. They have all played their part in the workings of the council which, in turn, will have benefited our communities. I am delighted they have received this recognition.”
