Peace Festival showcase for arty adults
Adults with learning disabilities will be showing an array of artwork at Leamington’s two day annual Peace Festival this weekend.
Toni Canning, Karen Flemming, Vicki Fox, Ruth Gunn, Patty Macatire and Lesley Wincote will have their work showcased at the Leamington Peace Festival on Saturday 14 June.
The group already have commissioned work displayed in cafés, pubs and health clinics in Nuneaton.
The Creative Art Project called Activ8 is part of Warwickshire County Council’s Community Support Services based in Nuneaton.
Rachel Flowers, who works with the group, said:
‘The group formed in 2005, with the aim of raising a positive profile of people with learning disabilities within the community, and to promote self confidence and self expression through art and creativity.’
