Firefighters put in final call for donations!
Two firefighters have started their journey of cycling from one end of the country to the other, to raise money for charities close to their hearts.
Greg McCrindle and Andy Humphreys from Rugby fire station started their gruelling cycle journey from Land’s End to John O’Groat’s on Saturday 7 June, a challenge that will take them three weeks to complete. The journey totals around 1,200 miles and has taken them weeks of training to prepare for.
Greg McCrindle said:
“We are looking for as many people to sponsor us as possible, that can include individual sponsors or local businesses. This is a gruelling task and one, which has taken weeks to train for. All of the money raised will be split between the Firefighters Charity (previously the Benevolent Fund), and Myton Hospice, two charities that are very close to our hearts.
“Myton Hospice in particular has played a prominent part in our lives in the last few years, with a number of colleagues being diagnosed with cancer.”
