Illegal signs concern in Coleshill
A North Warwickshire councillor is calling for an end to the illegal activity of fly posting and illegal signs on the highway.
Cllr Peter Fowler says the use of the signs has become a problem in the Coleshill area.
He said: “Apart from being and unsightly and causing a distraction to the motorists, they also divert resources away from essential services.”
Bryn Patefield, Warwickshire County Council’s Highways Manger, is supporting Cllr Fowler and asking that regular offenders refrain from this practice.
He said: “Generally all unauthorised signs within the highway will be removed, but discretion is exercised with community fetes and charitable events.”
Coleshill Councillor Peter Fowler added: “I fully support this action to keep our highways clear of illegal signs to keep this area looking clean and cared for.”
