A3400 closure at Long Compton
Motorists are being warned that Monday will see the closure of a Warwickshire A-road as part of an emergency road closure.
The closure comes into force on the morning of Monday 23 June on the A3400 through Long Compton, and it will be closed to motor traffic for three weeks.
This is to allow urgent repairs to the highway drainage culvert that has started to collapse on the east verge opposite St Peter and St Pauls Church.
The diversion for motor traffic is via Chipping Norton and Moreton in Marsh. Local motor traffic will still be able to travel at each side of the works area but will not be able to drive along the A3400 through the works area.
Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder with responsibility for highways said: “We apologise for any inconvenience cause by the works. Our engineers have done all they can to try and avoid a road closure, but because of the circumstances surrounding these particular works, we have to close the road.”
Pedestrians, Cyclists and Equestrians should not be affected.
