New Nuneaton Cycling Guide is launched

Cycling is about to get a whole lot easier in Nuneaton as Warwickshire County Council launches the completely free Nuneaton Cycling Guide.

Published by the county council, the guide includes a map showing cycle routes around the town and other useful information for cyclists.

It also contains details of local leisure cycling routes, cycle training courses and a range of hints and tips to help make journeys by bike that bit easier.

Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “With a new cycling route around the town’s ring-road the guide is perfectly timed for the people of Nuneaton.

“Summer is upon us and petrol prices going up, so there’s no better time to get your bike out of the shed and discover the benefits of cycling – for your health, your pocket and the local environment.”

The Nuneaton Cycling Guide is available free of charge from council offices, libraries, leisure centres, bike shops and other outlets.

Alternatively, visit Warwickshire County Council’s cycling web pages at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/cycling where you can download a copy or request one by post.

And all this summer Warwickshire County Council is celebrating the tenth anniversary of cycle training, having helped almost 30,000 people to become more confident with their bicycles.
