Official opening of telent’s new Warwick office

Leader of Warwickshire County Council, Cllr Alan Farnell, yesterday welcomed a major employer into the town of Warwick.

Cllr Farnell officially opened telent’s new offices in Warwick, following the company’s relocation from Coventry earlier this year. telent, a leading provider of technology services, has relocated more than 500 staff to the new facility.

Cllr Farnell said: “The council is delighted that telent has chosen Warwick for its operational headquarters. Investment in Warwickshire is vital to the county’s economy and we are proud to be part of telent’s strategy for future growth.”

Cllr Chris Saint, the county council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, added: “The council is proud of Warwickshire Investment Partnership’s work and the support it provides to companies such as telent in making their relocations profitable and successful.”

Commenting on the relocation, Mark Plato, CEO of telent said: “This is a positive and exciting move for telent.  We are a new and dynamic company and needed somewhere that would enable us to bring all our people in the area together in one place. Our new Warwick headquarters provide environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art facilities that reflect the kind of business we are.”

telent’s new accommodation, offers over 83,000 sq ft of self-contained, grade A, refurbished office space on three floors and makes the company the second largest office occupier in the region, as well as the first new letting at Opus 40, Warwickshire’s newest business park.

The scheme currently comprises three separate office buildings totalling some 280,000 sq ft of space on a 35-acre mature landscaped campus. The remaining two properties, with a combined area of 194,000 sq ft, are leased to existing tenant IBM.  Developer, Opus Land, is currently seeking planning consent to further develop the site with up to 300,000 sq ft of additional accommodation, which will create up to 3,000 new jobs.

telent, supplies a broad range of telecommunication and IT network services to enterprises, equipment vendors, public sector organisations and network operators in the UK and Germany.
