Local group receives funding

Stockingford Residents Association have received £3,000 from Warwickshire County Council’s Nuneaton and Bedworth Area Committee.

The funds will be used to put on a family festival on Sunday the 20th July – Stockingford Recreation Ground West Bury Road Nuneaton.

The festival has been organised as a way to reach young school leavers to guide their next choices, there will be stands giving career advice and advice about options for further education and training. 

To attract the school leavers with their families there are many other activities including displays from local community organisations, police dogs, young fire fighters as well as children entertainers, a falconry show and a BMX display on the new BMX track.

There are also 5 local bands, market stalls and car boot traders. There will be many chances for people of all ages to get involved so please come down. 

The event begins 12pm on Sunday the 20th July and continues until 4pm

Cllr Barry Longden Chair of Warwickshire County Council’s Nuneaton and Bedworth Area Committee giving he £3,000 grant said “ The Area Committee is really pleased to fund these types of community events, and really hope the young people especially school leavers come along and consider their options for continuing education as well as receiving careers advice”.
