Summer holiday ‘Snax ‘n’ Sports’
As the final day of school term fast approaches, ‘Positive about Young People’ (PaYP) have announced this summer’s Snax ‘n’ Sports activity programme for young people in Warwickshire.
The programme, which is absolutely free of charge, is available to 8 to 13-year-olds who can take part in a range of sports during the holidays including quick cricket and basketball – as well as activities like arts and crafts.
The drop-in sessions run from 12 - 3pm giving young people the opportunity to take part any time – therefore parents are advised that participants can leave at any time.
Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for Children, Young People and Families, said: “The aim is to encourage young people to be active during the holidays, and Snax ‘n’ Sports is a great way to do this.”
Those taking part in the scheme will need parental consent and forms will be available for young people when they participate in their first session.
‘Positive about Young People’ is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police amongst other agencies working with Young People. The programme helps Young People by giving them something positive to do and to feel part of their communities.
