Crews will work through the night
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue, Warwickshire Police and Air Accident Investigation Branch will be working through the night to find out how two aircrafts collided earlier today resulting in five fatailities.
The collision occurred near to Coombe Abbey Country Park at about 11.30am on Sunday, August 17.
It involved a Cessna 402 and a light aircraft, which are believed to have collided mid-air. There are two sites where debris from the aircrafts has landed which stretches across several miles.
An Urban Search and Rescue Team from West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service are now at the scene and will be working through the night with crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage.
Incident commander, Mick Leach said:
"We will be working throughout the night using specialist lighting and cutting equipment. The teams have assessed the site and work will be undertaken to release the bodies from the the scene of the incident."
