Green ‘Guru’ to Speak At Kenilworth Exhibition
George Martin, recently voted one of the UK’s top ten green gurus, will be speaking at the Kenilworth Green Exhibition on the 29th August, and presenting a series of short films highlighting the impact of climate change and how individuals and local communities can respond.
In a recent poll for Building Magazine, he was voted by a distinguished panel of judges as being one of the top ten green gurus that had most influenced and impacted the green building movement in the UK.
Many local companies and organisations will be attending the Exhibition, offering advice and guidance on how to adopt a greener life style. What’s more, a lot of these ideas can help to cut energy costs as well, leading to lower bills – of great interest to many as the costs of petrol and diesel, gas and electricity soar.
The list of confirmed exhibitors includes Encraft, Action 21, the Renewable Energy Club, the Green Electrician, Friends of the Earth, Heat Store, Ecozi, Climate Change Solutions, Travis Perkins, Wolseley, Chiltern Railways, ASK (A Station for Kenilworth), Sustrans, the University of Warwick, WCC Climate Change Team, WDC Sort-It Team, and WRAP.
Cllr. John Whitehouse (WCC Kenilworth Abbey), one of the organisers of the Exhibition, said:
“We are very lucky to have someone with the national credentials of George Martin resident here in Kenilworth and playing such a major part in this Exhibition.
We have a wide range of exhibitors, with something to interest everyone. After the success of the public meeting on Climate Change earlier in the year, we are hoping for a really good attendance on the 29th August.”
