Warwick delays warning
Motorists are being warned to expect delays at a busy Warwick junction for the next few weeks.
Work gets underway on Tuesday, August 26, to improve the signals at the junction of Coventry Road, St Johns, Coten End, in Warwick.
Warwickshire County Council is carrying out a number of improvements to the traffic signals including electrical and signal equipment upgrades. The scheme will also ensure that the pedestrian crossing points meet the legislation in the Disability Discrimination Act. The scheme also aims to reduce queuing traffic where possible and specifically review the exit blocking of St Nicholas Church Street.
Major works haven’t been carried out at the junction since 1994, and the signals and the pedestrian crossings need upgrading which are expected to take about six weeks.
The pedestrian crossing at Coten End near Cherry Street will also be upgraded in conjunction with this scheme.
