Ash Green pupils get a ‘pizza’ the action

Year 11 students at Ash Green School, a Specialist Arts College, will next week be taking on the challenge to run their own pizza business.

The Business Challenge on Thursday, September 25, has been co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, and aims to help the youngsters be more prepared for the world of work

The 15 and 16 year olds will be participating in a computerised business simulation where they will set up and running a takeaway pizza shop.

They have to use their enterprise skills such as teamwork, innovation, perseverance and decision making to complete the exercise, which will include tendering for a suitable shop site and making marketing, finance and personnel decisions, with a view to maximizing profit.

The students will be guided by expert advice from local business representatives from companies such as Jaguar, Land Rover, the Army and Connexions.
