B4085 Honeybourne Road Closure at Bidford-on-Avon Bridge

The B4085 at Bidford Bridge will be closed to motorists from the morning of Monday 6 October until late evening on Friday 31 October.

The stretch affected will be from Bidford-on-Avon High Street, across the bridge to Monies Meadow access.

The diversion for motor traffic is via Barton and Welford On Avon.  Pedestrians, Cyclists and Equestrians should not be affected.  Bus timetables will be revised and passengers should contact the relevant bus company for further details.

The closure is to allow for replacement of two flood culverts beneath Honeybourne Road that link the River Avon flood plain. The existing culverts are in such a state that replacement is the safest and most cost effective solution.

The new culverts will be of modern concrete pipes to carry flood water and with a blue lias stone exterior which is sympathetic to the nearby bridge.

Warwickshire County Council regret the widespread disruption that this will cause but we believe that this is the safest, and most efficient way to maintain these culverts.

This is another example of inadequate structures being replaced by Warwickshire County Council with a modern design that will serve future generations.

The works are being carried out by R &C Williams who are well known throughout the west midlands for the efficiency and quality of their construction works.
