At the end of the week schools will showcase their work to fellow students on Friday morning, and in the afternoon they will come together to share their work and experience together and with a small number of invited guests at Coleshill Town Hall.

Activities include:
- Bollywood dancing
- African drumming
- Story-telling and slavery poem workshops
- Japanese fish-making
- Language workshops (Provided by ICSS - Intercultural Support Service)
- Lino printing provided by staff from The Coleshill Secondary School
- Rap poetry classes from performing poets, Dreadlock Alien and Martin Glynn
- Visitors from Gambia sharing their culture and building links with the schools
- A themed food menu of ‘Around the World’ provided by Warwickshire Caterers to fit in with National School Meals Week
- Music linked to the Wider Opportunities Programme provided by CMS (County Music Service)

The project will involve many activities to promote multi-cultural education in schools and the wider community taking place during Black History Month.  After the event displays including poetry, artwork film and photographs will be displayed on the internet c/o waterortonprimary.co.uk and in public places so that the wider community can also benefit.  Activities from the week will be filmed by media students from The Coleshill School as part of their studies.

It will also have a long lasting impact by providing the cluster of schools with a shared resource of £1500 worth of African percussion instruments which can be used in lessons and future projects.

The project will increase the amount of children gaining access to different cultures, as all the activities will take place in our own local community of schools with, the whole community working together to promote cultural diversity and community cohesion.  The project will support the personal development and participation of young people with wide ranging learning needs across the different schools and will give them personalised opportunities to develop their leadership skills, gifts and talents.

The project will encourage talent and raise standards as the children, young people and their families.

The organisers wish to thank the following groups for their support: ICSS, Arts in Warwickshire, Warwickshire County Caterers, Warwickshire County Music Service and Coleshill Grammar Schools Foundation Trust, Warwickshire Extended Services.
