Driving success for the sub-region
Industry leaders from technology-driven organisations have come together for a showcase event.
Wednesday saw Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire (CSW) councils, collectively know as ‘The Winning Technology’, bring together senior executives from across the CSW region to network and generate business across diverse industry sectors.
The Winning Technology held the ‘Tomorrow’s Technology for Success Today’ event at The Digital Lab which is a new £50m initiative led by the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick.
Guests were treated to exclusive presentations from key industry experts, including Guy Smallman of the Health Design & Technology Institute, who spoke about support for community healthcare innovations; and The Digital Lab’s Dr Mark Swift who explained how to develop hi-tech SMEs through university and industry collaboration.
Delegates were then able to network with colleagues from the motorsport, aerospace, medical, automotive and ICT sectors. Guests also took time to visit the 15 exhibitors, which included motorsport specialist Prodrive and ICT experts Technology Services Group.
The event, sponsored by technology solutions company telent, provided the ideal opportunity for local companies to find out how new initiatives could help them.
Cllr Chris Saint, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: ”By hosting the event at The Digital Lab, local businesses saw first hand the wide range of services the facility could offer them.
“The event also enabled specialists across a wide range of areas to discover what other industries can do for them and vice-versa, meeting exhibitors who already work across a number of sectors. Events like Tomorrow’s Technology for Success Today help to uncover the exciting potential for businesses, who were previously unaware of the benefits of working with companies in other sectors.”
Having remained in the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire area following their recent relocation, Mark Plato, CEO of telent said: “telent was delighted to sponsor the event and reinforce the region’s position as a prime business location.
“The move to new headquarters in Warwick has underlined the exciting and promising start we have made as telent. Our presence at this event gave us the opportunity to showcase what telent is all about and meet valuable business contacts across a wide range of industries.”
