PHILLIS activities still running in your area!
Residents who are 50+ are being reminded not to forget about the free activities being run by PHILLIS, a service provided by Warwickshire County Council, which helps people over 50 to live independently.
The activities including basic first aid, eating well and learning how to use a Nintendo Wii are just some of the exciting activities being run by PHILLIS in south Warwickshire over the next six months.
The aim of the events are to encourage people in their early 50’s to think about their future health and learn more about what they can do to reduce the chances of them losing their independence later in life. The activities are part of a pilot scheme being run by PHILLIS, a service provided by Warwickshire County Council, which helps people over 50 to live independently.
Sian Sansum, Service Broker- Stratford on Avon District, said:
“The events run last week went really well and we had a great range of people attend. We are hoping that even more people aged 50+ will take the time this week to find out more about the service and see that there are a range of services available to them.”
PHILLIS is available for anyone who is 50 plus and provides them with the opportunity to take part in some true prevention activities, like eating well and looking after your health. So come along and see how early intervention can give you a better chance of staying fit and well in the future.
