Calendar reflects on one year anniversary
A calendar to mark the one-year anniversary of the four firefighters who lost their lives in a warehouse fire in Atherstone-on-Stour is being launched this week.
The calendar will be launched on Monday 3rd November at Stratford Fire Station in memory of the four firefighters, Ashley Stephens, Darren Yates-Badley, Ian Reid and John Averis. All money raised will go towards Warwickshire Firefighters Families Fund and the Firefighters Charity (previously the Benevolent Fund).
Watch Manager, Rose Matthews said: “We put a lot of hard work into putting the calendar together. The images were the hardest part as we wanted them to reflect the humour of the crews and a lot of our firefighters actually feature in the calendar. Everyone really wanted it to work.
"We are hoping that the calendar will be popular and all money raised will go to charities very close to our hearts, the Warwickshire Firefighters Families Fund and the Firefighters Charity. I would like to say a special thank you to all of the local businesses who have agreed to sell the calendars in their stores.”
The calendar will be available from all local fire stations and the following stores:
Sainsbury’s, The Shires Retail Park, Leamington Spa
Tesco’s, Birmingham Road, Stratford
Budgens, Bidford on Avon
Lee’s newsagents, Lee Road, Leamington Spa
Adrian’s Butchers, Acre Close, Whitnash, Leamington Spa
Bluebell Florists, Acre Close, Whitnash, Leamington Spa
Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh
Alternatively e-mail warwickshirecalendar@warwickshire.gov.uk to order your copy. The cost of the calendar is £5.
