George Eliot School is making its mark
Year 10 pupils from George Eliot School in Nuneaton join schools and businesses from all over the country to take part in a national one-day enterprise competition next week.
The Mark Your Mark enterprise competition will take place on Monday 17. Specific details of the challenge will not be released until midnight on Monday but the task will be sure to test students innovation, initiative and creativity to develop business ideas.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership will announce the challenge to over 150 participating pupils at George Eliot at 9am on Monday and members of the team will remain on hand at the school to get the pupils set up for the day.
Several business representatives from the local area will also be at the school to guide the students, and help to encourage the students to develop their ideas in groups of six.
At the end of the challenge a winning group will be chosen at the school who will go forward into the next round to be judged by a panel. The best 20 teams from each region will go forward to the Regional Finals which will be held in Birmingham later this month.
The challenge activity which is part of National Enterprise Week, has been coordinated nationally by The Make Your Mark Campaign in collaboration with the National Education Business Partnership Network and supported by the Department of Trade and Industry.
Enterprise Week is a celebration of enterprise with thousands of events and activities being run by organisations across the UK to encourage people to unlock their enterprising talent.
This year it will be part of the first ever Global Entrepreneurship Week. Warwickshire Education Business Partnership is working with schools and colleges in the area to ensure students have an opportunity to take part in this celebration of talent.
