Eye health awareness event a real success!

An eye health awareness session run by Warwickshire County Council was a real success thanks to support from Warwickshire residents.

The session, which was run by Phillis, (a service which helps people over 50 to live independently) took place on Saturday 15 November at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon.

Over 100 people attended the event, which included a talk from Warwickshire County Council’s road safety team, a driver awareness session with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, information and advice on diabetes and help and advice from Phillis.

“We were really pleased with the amount of people who attended the event.  It was a really interesting session for people to come to, with many saying that there was more to learn about eye health awareness than they thought. Lots of people signed up to find out more about how the services provided by Phillis can help them to stay independent, which is great, we even had lots of interest from younger people.”

There are a number of events coming up in January, so make sure that you log onto http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/phillis or contact the PHILLIS team on 01926 731142 to find out more.
