Warwickshire keeps up the good work
A thorough annual assessment of how Warwickshire’s Adult Social Care Services are performing has resulted in the Commission for Social Care Inspection confirming that the county keeps its two star status.
The rating, announced today, confirms that the county retains a ‘good’ in delivering outcomes and its capacity for improvement is ‘promising’ in the provision of services for older people. The result demonstrates that Warwickshire County Council’s commitment to caring for adults with disabilities, mental health issues and older people is stronger than ever.
The Commission said that the council is delivering good outcomes for improved health and emotional wellbeing. It also said that the council is delivering good outcomes in improved quality of life and increased choice and control.
Praise was also given to the work that the council is doing to increase people’s economic wellbeing and also for maintaining personal dignity and respect.
The CSCI highlighted improved partnership working and the way in which views and experiences of all communities are considered in achieving a range of priorities in 2007/08 as key strengths in the way that services are commissioned and developed for Adult Social Care in Warwickshire.
Councillor Colin Hayfield, Portfolio holder for Adult, Health and Community Services, welcomed the continued improvement in performance saying,
“Maintaining our successful inspection outcomes in the face of all the pressures our Adult Services meet, is, in itself, a remarkable achievement.
“More encouraging still is the recognition that our services demonstrate promising prospects for even further improvements. Increasingly our residents can face the prospect of growing old in Warwickshire will greater confidence.”
Graeme Betts, Strategic Director for Adult, Health and Community Services, said:
“I am very pleased to see the two star rating again this year. The council is committed to caring for adults with disabilities and older people and the rating awarded by the Commission for Social Care Inspection demonstrates a confidence in the provision of services that we can continue to build upon in the future.”
