PHILLIS comes to Bidford!

People from Bidford are being invited to come along and try their hand at putting on bandages and learning what to do in an emergency in a session in basic first aid.

The event is talking place on Saturday 6 December, 10.30am at Bidford Parish Room, Bidford-on-Avon. The aim of the event is to encourage people in their early 50’s to think about their future health and learn more about what they can do to reduce the chances of them losing their independence later in life.

The activities are part of a pilot scheme being run by PHILLIS, a service provided by Warwickshire County Council, which helps people over 50 to live independently.

Sian Sansum, Service Broker- Stratford on Avon District, said: “The first aid sessions have proved really popular with residents across Warwickshire, which is why we are running this session in Bidford.

"The class will not only give residents 50+ the opportunity to try their hand at learning something new, but it will also provide them with the skills to deal with minor emergencies such as a burn from cooking or a cut from a fall.”
