Motorcyclists get a chance to fine tune riding
Motorcyclists who live, work or study in Warwickshire are being given the opportunity to fine tune their riding skills.
Warwickshire County Council’s Rider Training Programme offers half day courses to riders of mopeds and low powered motorcycles, while riders of high powered bikes can take advantage of a full day of expert tuition.
The professional training is being provided by highly experienced and qualified instructors from 90-One Education on behalf of Warwickshire County Council.
The training has been designed to enhance rider skill with an emphasis on developing defensive riding techniques in order to make all types of riding smooth, safe and trouble free. The training programme is part of an ongoing drive to reduce motorcycle road casualties.
Cllr Martin Heatley Portfolio Holder for the Environment said: “Motorcyclists are massively over represented in casualty statistics and with only their clothing and helmet to protect them from injury in the event of a crash it’s easy to see why.
“These courses are an opportunity for riders to brush up on their riding skills and learn new techniques from expert instructors that will help them to stay safe on the road. Best of all, the courses will cost the riders virtually nothing, except their time.”
Trevor Lord, Director of 90-One Education added: “We’re looking forward to getting out on the road with the riders who sign up to the training.
“We’re aiming to build riders’ confidence and introduce them to advanced riding techniques so that they can develop into better and safer motorcyclists. The courses will be tailored to individual rider need and I am sure the motorcyclists will find the training informative, helpful and enjoyable.”
