A huge thank you from the Grotto of Giving!
Warwickshire Museum would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has contributed to the “Grotto of Giving” since it opened on the Warwick Victorian Christmas Evening.
Over 100 gifts have so far been donated and it is hoped that even more may be bought to the Grotto before it closes at noon on Christmas Eve.
The gifts received by the Museum Service will be distributed across the county by the Children In Need teams from the Children and Young Families directorate of Warwickshire County Council.
Michelle Phillips, Visitor Services Manager, said
“We are overwhelmed with people’s generosity at this time of year and especially in harder financial times. It just goes to show that there is still festive goodwill to be found and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has taken part.
“We certainly hope to repeat this gesture next year to enable even more people to benefit from the scheme.”
If you would like to donate a gift it can be wrapped or unwrapped but if wrapped please label it with whom it might be appropriate for i.e. boy/girl, age etc although gifts for adults are also very welcome!
The Grotto is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday until noon on 24 December. Although gifts may be left at any time, Santa will be there in person to receive gifts between 10.30 – 11.30am and 3.30 – 4.30pm Tuesday to Friday.
