Avon Valley students get interview tips

Several local businesses are visiting Avon Valley School in Rugby to put almost 200 students through their interview paces.

On Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th January the 193 Year 11 students will go through a real life interview.

The initiative is organised by Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, and is designed to give students the chance to have a ‘real’ practice interview with experienced business representatives to help prepare them for the future.

Students have to complete an Application Form and are expected to answer questions on their skills, strengths, weaknesses and achievements, work experience and future plans. The business representatives then give the students feedback on their performance and helpful hints and tips for the future.

The Interview Skills initiative has been successfully run by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership across the county for eight years with thousands of students getting a chance to acquire these important skills.

The Education Business Partnership organises events around Warwickshire to try and ensure young people are better prepared for the world of work.
