Helping business through the recession
Warwickshire County Council and a host of partners are preparing a recession-busting package of help for businesses.
The county council is working with other local authorities, the Chamber, Federation of Small Businesses and with business support agencies to provide a programme of events that will help businesses to access public sector contracts, explain what business support is available to help beat the recession, and give people the opportunity to meet the buyers and Economic Development professionals who can help in these difficult economic times.
The first event will be held in Shire Hall, Warwick, on Monday 23rd February and two identical session will be run on that day – one in the morning and one during the afternoon.
Cllr Chris Saint, the county council’s Economic Development Portfolio Holder, said: “It is vital in these difficult times that we act quickly to make sure that our local businesses have the information they need to increase their chances of surviving this recession.
“By having a programme that moves around the county we can ensure maximum geographic coverage and can update the information given as the situation changes. We work closely with all sectors of the local business community and will continue to do so to ensure that we are meeting the very real needs of those who provide employment to so many of our residents.”
The event on 23rd February will feature both general buyers and specialist construction procurement professionals who will be able to advise on exactly how to find contracts, what is required to tender and other information to help business to secure work in this valuable market.
Also on hand will be Business Link, The Chamber, Warwickshire County Council Business Support Officers and other agencies that can help with everything from finance to IT to employment and a whole range of other issues facing businesses today.
