Bridge closure warning
Motorists are being warned to be aware that the Station Road railway bridge in Polesworth will be closing for five weeks from the middle of this month.
The temporary closure of Station Road Railway Bridge is essential in order to carry out measures to improve safety. The bridge will be closed for a period of five weeks, with works starting on Monday, 16 February.
Highway safety barriers are to be positioned on the approaches to the bridge, permanent traffic lights are being installed and the 30 mph speed limit is being extended to include the bridge.
These works are in response to a national assessment of risk at road/rail locations and Warwickshire County Council and Network Rail are to share the costs.
