A finger licking, tastebud tingling, morsel munching treat of a Valentine’s Day is in store in Warwickshire.

The region’s top chefs and proprietors, including many winners of the 2008 Coventry and Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards, have developed a number of reasonably priced Valentine’s Day dishes using the very best of local produce.

The Peacock, Oxhill
The Peacock at Oxhill, highly commended winners in the Best Dining Pub category, have pulled together a terrific ‘credit crunch’ beating menu for only £25 per head. The varied menu includes local options including Lighthorn rack of lamb, Paddock Farm cured shaved ham and roast pork rib and a delicious range of deserts, including a rich chocolate truffle cake and locally sourced Tysoe espresso ice cream .  All food is cooked fresh to order and includes a glass of rose bubbly.  To book your table ring 01295 688060.

Granville @ Barford, Nr Warwick
Diners at the The Granville @ Barford, nr Warwick, commended in the Best Dining Pub Inn category, have created a special ‘loved up’ menu including a tasty selection that includes broccoli and goats cheese soup, three-bone rack of lamb, pan fried duck breast and a delicious orange creme brulee served with shortbread.  The decadent three course meal costs £25.95 per head and includes a complimentary red rose on the table.  For bookings, telephone 01926 624236.

Garden Organic Ryton, Ryton-on-Dunsmore
Garden Organic Ryton, winners of the Best Cafe Restaurant within a Visitor Attraction category, have developed a superb three course organic and local menu including produce from local supplier Elmhurst Farm including a delicious chicken liver pate with a cranberry jelly and toasted bloomer, roast pork lion steak and Elmhurst Farm 8oz sirloin steak.  The specially deigned menu costs only £55.00 per couple and includes a complimentary sparkling wine on arrival.  Booking is essential .  Telephone 02476 308213.

The Blue Bell, Henley-in-Arden
From Thursday 12th February until Saturday 14th February, The Blue Bell, deserving winners of the Best Dining Pub category, will be offering an amazing five course St Valentine’s banquet.  Available as both a lunch or dinner option, the carefully selected menu includes champagne and canapes on arrival and options including pan fried fillet steak Rossini and dauphinoise potatoes and chocolate fondue with marshmallows and strawberries.  The lunch option costs £40.00 per head and the evening dinner option £50.00 per head.  For bookings, telephone 01564 793 049.

Tailor’s Restaurant, Warwick
Not to be out done, Warwick’s Tailor’s Restaurant, commended in the Best Restaurant category are also offering a fabulous fixed price St Valentine’s menu including a roasted duck ham, fillet and belly of pork, served with buttered young spinach, crispy potatoes and a carrot and caraway dressing and a delicious lemon chiboust with a rhubarb and lemon thyme jelly.
