Anti-bullying Partnership gets a head for heights

Young people and their families are invited to support Warwickshire’s campaign against bullying by coming along to a high-rise event next weekend.

Warwickshire’s Anti-bullying Partnership has arranged an abseil and information day at Kings House in Bedworth town centre between 9am and 5pm on Saturday 28 February.

Over 50 volunteers will be abseiling at the event which aims to raise awareness of the county’s anti-bullying work, launch the new anti-bullying poster and web pages for young people, and re-launch text2talk support service.

Whilst young people and partnership members line up to take on the challenge, professionals from a range of support services will be on the ground offering information and advice to visitors.

Joining the brave participants will be Hugh Disley, Head of Youth Division at the county council, he said: “The Anti-bullying Partnership do wonderful work with children and young people across the county to stamp out bullying and support victims.

“I can think of no better way to put the spotlight on this important campaign and I am looking forward to getting to the bottom, in one piece!”

Rachel Evans, Warwickshire Anti-bullying Co-ordinator said: “Young people came up with the idea of the abseil and have been involved with the event throughout the organisation process.  We hope to see lots of them taking part and visiting Kings House next Saturday to offer their support.”
