Young people run out hoses with red noses!
Young people aged 15 and 16, will be running out a mile of hoses in an attempt to raise money for Comic Relief.
The fundraising event will take place at 10am on Friday 13 March at Nuneaton Fire Station.
The students will be running out over a mile of hose, which is a total of 128 hoses in less than one hour. The students will be supported by firefighters from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service as well as parents and carers. Local residents are also being invited to come along and support the event
Paul Ingham, Youth Development Officer said: “The young people taking part in the red nose event all attend the Firebreak course, which is run by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. Running over a mile of hose is a big task and doing it with red noses on should make it lots of fun for those taking part and the spectators. We also hope that lots of money will be raised by their efforts.”
Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor Richard Hobbs said: “Red Nose Day is a very worthy cause and it is great that so many young people are getting involved. It should be a really fun event, so please come along and give your support.”
