Young people make Sound Movements
Tuneful young people in Warwickshire will have an opportunity to express themselves through music, thanks to a new project run by Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People.
The initiative, called Sound Movements, has been organised in partnership with The Notables Foundation and will work with groups referred to the Early Intervention / Prevention team.
Five-week sessions are being held in North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth and Rugby with the aim to support curricular learning and build social skills; build a positive emotional and learning environment; and allow young people to produce recorded material and contribute to CD artwork.
Groups will be discussing and writing songs around themes including learning to respect others; develop positive working relationships; expressing their feelings and raising self esteem.
Parneet Kang, Early Intervention / Prevention Manager at Positive about Young People, said: “Sound Movements offers young people the chance to learn how to explore their emotions whilst being creative at the same time.
“We’re really looking forward to this exciting project and believe the participants will get a lot out of it.”
