Thousands seek tips to beat credit crunch crime

New pages on Warwickshire County Council’s website, which offer useful information to beat Credit Crunch crime, were viewed more than 3500 times in February.

The pages were launched by the Community Safety Team as part of the ‘Protect Yourself’ campaign, which focussed on acquisitive crime - or spur-of-the-moment crimes like robbery, burglary and vehicle crime.

Tips are still available on the Protect Yourself pages at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/communitysafety, including how to secure your home, your personal belongings and your vehicle.

Cllr Richard Hobbs, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Protection, said: “The Protect Yourself web pages are just one of the ways in which Warwickshire County Council is committed to help people through the Credit Crunch.
“By taking a few simple security precautions, it could further reduce the already low risk of becoming a victim of crime in Warwickshire, making it an even safer place to live – as well as saving you a lot of time and money.”
