Snax ‘n’ Sports returns for Easter

Football, quick cricket and basketball are just some of the activities on offer for young people in Warwickshire this Easter, as part of the Snax ‘n’ Sports programme.

It’s run by Warwickshire County Council’s ‘Positive about Young People’ scheme and is available to 8 to 13-year-olds across the county, absolutely free of charge including food.

Aside from sports, other activities including arts and crafts are also on offer during the drop in sessions that will run either between 11am and 1pm, or 2pm and 4pm, depending on the location. Parents are advised that young people can leave whenever they wish.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for Children, Young People and Families, said: “Snax ‘n’ Sports provides a great way to reduce boredom and keep young minds active over the school holidays.”

Those taking part in the scheme will need parental consent and forms will be available for young people when they participate in their first session.

‘Positive about Young People’ is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police amongst other agencies working with young people. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and to feel part of their communities.
