Open Day for new school
Woodloes Primary School is holding an open day this weekend to showcase what the community can expect when the new school opens in September.
From 10am until 2pm at Woodloes Junior School hall in Deansway, Warwick, staff will be showing how the buildings will look, unveiling the new uniform and logo, and hosting children’s activities including cookie decorating, seed planting, doll-making and junk modelling.
The existing Infant and Junior Schools sited next to each other on the Woodloes estate are being amalgamated to form a new Woodloes Primary School in September.
The new school will bring the pupils together into one building by extending the existing Junior School. The new building will accommodate community facilities and a nursery. The nearby Ridgeway School (SEN) will also be relocated onto the site, creating a campus feel.
Greg Smith, chair of the Temporary Governing Body, said: "Everyone is invited to come along to the open day. It is also an ideal opportunity for parents - both existing and prospective - and the community to find out what is going on and to keep up to date with the latest developments."
People will be able to see plans of the proposed building and site, and there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to Andy Mitchell, head of the new school, and members of the Temporary Governing body.
With interesting children’s activities, entertainment and a prize draw, it is hoped that this will be a fun and informative day. Refreshments will be available.
