Bilton pupils tune in to learning
Pupils at Bilton School in Rugby will be getting tuned in and switched on to some new business skills as they learn how to launch their own TV channel.
Year 10 students from Bilton School will be taking part in a Business Challenge Day on Thursday.
Fullrange Media, a successful Midlands Media company, will be issuing the challenge and helping the students to research, schedule programmes, attract advertisers, market their channel and try to balance the budget.
The students will show their creative and innovative solutions to the judges in a two minute power point presentation and an overall winning team will be chosen. The event has been organised by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council.
Helping the students to work as a team, manage their time and keep on track as they rise to the Media Challenge will be business representatives from ASDA , RAF Motivational Outreach Team, Rugby Borough Council, The Mayday Trust, Rugby Rotary and AWP who have all given up their time to support students as they practice the skills and qualities they will need in the workplace.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership works with many local schools to try and ensure pupils are better prepared for the world of work.
