Road closure alert

Residents of the village of Luddington and other local people are being alerted to a road closure in the area, and the impact this will have on local bus services.

Warwickshire County Council is working to try and ensure there is as little disruption as possible for local people when the road closure gets underway on Luddington Road for essential carriageway resurfacing works.

The road closure is planned to take place for 15 days between Monday, April 27 and May 22.

An agreement has been made with a company called A to B Taxis to provide transport for schoolchildren on three morning runs and three return runs in the afternoon on each school day.

One will transport children to meet an Alcester schools bus on Evesham Road, one to the Girls Grammar School and one to St Gregorys RC School. Parents of the children affected have been individually notified by letter.

The same company will provide a vehicle on standby for residents to be able to travel into Stratford and return, free of charge between the following times:
from 0730 to 0745
from 0900 to 1500
from 1630 to 1900

Notices are being put in place on the bus stops in the village which will advise people of the temporary taxi transport arrangements.
