Museum search for moon inspired artwork

Warwickshire County Museum Service is hoping to help people celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the first man on the moon, and will be organising events throughout the summer looking at all things lunar!

As part of the celebrations the museum is inviting people to enter a Moon Art Competition. The museum wants to know what the moon means to people of Warwickshire – in pictures!!

Nicola Sherhod, Assistant Keeper of Human History, said: “We hope that people across the County will be inspired by the moon to create a unique piece of art which they can enter in to the competition.

The four winning entries will be included in the new and exciting exhibition entitled “Once in a Blue Moon” which will run from July to September 2009 at Market Hall Museum, Warwick.”

The competition is open to all ages and entry forms can be obtained from Market Hall or St John’s House Museum, Warwick (both are closed on Mondays).

Alternatively you can collect forms from local libraries or download from our website http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/museums.
Competition closing date: 31st May 2009.
