Mayor gets to checkout road safety

A couple of Asda workers are to get Civic approval for their work in trying to keep youngsters safer on the road.

Nuneaton Mayor Councillor Gerald Smith is to visit the local primary school at Stockingford on Monday to see ASDA employees doing their bit to help youngsters learn important lessons about road safety.

Sharon Hobbs and Tracy McCulloch have been volunteer KerbSafe instructors since the scheme began, and are still enjoying their time with the youngsters as KerbSafe celebrates five years.

Stan Milewski, Senior Road Safety Officer at Warwickshire County Council, said: “Not only am I delighted to have Sharon and Tracy on our team of volunteers, but I’m impressed with ASDA’s commitment to community issues – particularly road safety - with their support and that of other local volunteers we have been able to deliver a valuable learning opportunity to children of Nuneaton. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
