Pupils bond at Aston Martin event
One of Warwickshire’s new Science and Engineering Ambassadors has been giving Warwick school pupils an insight into a British legend.
Pupils at Round Oak School recently had a visit from Bal Choda, from Aston Martin, who has won praise for his dedication as a school ambassador with Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.
From the moment he arrived at the school in an Aston Martin car he captivated the pupils with his enthusiasm for his job and love of working with the iconic vehicles.
Pupils were treated to a film show about Aston Martin cars, liberally sprinkled with excerpts from various James Bond films and took part in a competition to design the Aston Martin of the future.
Every pupil was presented with a book about the company and a leather bookmark. Aston Martin baseball caps, t-shirts and 1/18th scale models of the car were awarded to the three best designs.
All the pupils were invited onto the playground in the afternoon to get up close to the car as Bal set the engine running.
Puffin Pocock, Head Teacher, said: “I am extremely grateful to Bal Choda from Aston Martin for giving up his own time to come to Round Oak. We’ve had a brilliant time.
“This has been a wonderful opportunity to raise our pupils’ awareness of the wider world of work and of the important industries that are based here in our local area. We are fortunate that people like Bal are dedicated to this partnership with schools.”
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, works with schools and businesses to try and ensure pupils are better prepared for the world of work.
