Half-term Street Sportz returns to Warwickshire
A boredom-busting week of sports for young people in Warwickshire returns for half-term thanks to Warwickshire County Council’s ‘Positive about Young People’ programme.
‘Street Sportz’ is open to anyone aged between 8 and 13-years-old and offers a chance to play any sport they can think of – providing the equipment is available – absolutely free-of-charge, and in an organised environment.
There are 15 locations countywide offering one-hour sessions between Tuesday 26 and Friday 29 May 2009.
Participants will need to provide their name, address, any medical information we should know about and emergency contact details before joining in with the activities.
Mark Bolton, Operations Development Manager for Positive about Young People, said: “Parents often find it difficult to keep their children occupied during half-term, so Street Sportz provides a great opportunity to tackle their boredom and keep them active over the holidays.
”It doesn’t matter about your skill level – anyone can join in. Even more importantly, it doesn’t cost anything to take part.”
‘Positive about Young People’ is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police, amongst other agencies working with young people. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and to feel part of their communities.
