Best of all time
Warwickshire Museum Service is celebrating the news that Warwickshire Timetrail has won a national award.
Warwickshire Timetrail has been voted best online Historic Environment Record in the Country, in a recent BAJR poll.
The British Archaeological Jobs Resource (BAJR) provides information and services to the whole heritage industry and those who interact with them.
The Warwickshire Timetrail website was created by the County Council’s Museum Field Services team and Dmarkable six years ago and has helped thousands of time detectives to investigate everything from well-known archaeological sites to ones in their neighbourhood.
Warwickshire Timetrail features a range of resources from Local Studies Toolkits so that people can carry out their own research, to online exhibitions.
Christina Evans, Archaeological Project Manager for Warwickshire County Council, said: “Warwickshire Timetrail was one of the earliest Historic Environment Records to go online and it is wonderful to be nationally acknowledged as one of the best.
“If you have ever wondered what archaeological discoveries have been made in your local area, we would urge to you log on to http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/timetrail”
The Historic Environment Record, based in Warwick, also contains further information and resources not on the Timetrail website. If you would like to learn more please contact the team on 01926 412734 or sitesandmonuments@warwickshire.gov.uk
