On Thursday the students from Queen Elizabeth School (A Specialist Sports College) will take part in an Enterprise Challenge Event co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council. 

The event will involve students working in teams with local business people to guide them through a challenge which will enhance their enterprise skills and also work on effective communication, teamwork, time management and problem solving.

The main challenge of the day will be supplied by North Warwickshire Borough Council Sports Development Department who want to increase participation in sport across North Warks by 1% per year.

The students will be given the challenge to come up with ideas for new sporting activities which will attract people to ‘Get Active’.

They will have to carry out research on funding sources and staff qualifications, choose venues and equipment, produce advertising materials, an activity plan, and a customer evaluation questionnaire.

The students will then deliver a presentation to North Warwickshire Borough Council who will decide on a winning group. The winning group may well see their ideas put into action by the borough council to try to increase the take up of sport in the area.

The students will receive business advice and guidance from representatives of local businesses such as DHL, Connexions, Volkswagen, Jaguar Land Rover, Royal Navy Diversity Team, Warwickshire Police, Army, Warwickshire County Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council.
