The County Music Service’s area centre is staging a production of Dazzle, a Star Trek parody and family musical featuring lunar-tic lyrics, stellar one-liners all set to music.

Dazzle charts the voyage of the star ship Sunburster One under the control of Captain Sam Galactic. Ordered by the President of the Homeworld to transport his daughter, Dazzle Star, to her finishing school, Captain Sam and his crew discover she has been kidnapped by astral pirates.

Performances of Dazzle will take place at Dale Street Methodist Church in Leamington Spa on Friday 12 June at 7.30pm and on Saturday 13 June at 3pm and 7.30pm.  Tickets are available on the door priced at £5 adults, £4 seniors or £3 children or £14 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).

Other County Music Service events in Leamington Spa over the summer include the Suzuki Strings Group Annual concert on Saturday 20 June and the Summer Festival Concert on Wednesday July 1, both performances will be held at All Saints Parish Church on Victoria Terrace.

The festival in July will feature a number of performances by county music groups to showcase the diversity of musical talent amongst Warwickshire’s young people.  Big Band, steel pans, county choirs, guitars and the area orchestra will share the stage throughout the evening.

Central Area Manager, Simon Grimshaw said: “We have some great events coming up over the summer offering something for everyone’s tastes, from musical theatre to classical groups.  The pupils have worked hard over the year preparing for these performances and we hope the events will be well attended.”
