Youth bus rolls into Leamington Peace Festival
Warwickshire County Council’s Youth and Community Service will be running a host of activities from their youth bus at the Leamington Peace Festival at the town’s Pump Room Gardens this weekend (June 13 and 14).
Information and guidance on a variety of issues such as sexual health, drugs, and alcohol will be available from youth workers and other professionals over the weekend, and young people can find out about local youth facilities and opportunities in Warwick district.
There will also be free art and craft activities taking place over the weekend, as well as a boy’s street dance demonstration on the Saturday, (featuring members of the Being Frank dance group) and young people from Warwick and Lillington youth forums will be trying to promote a positive image of young people in the community by providing free tea and coffee for adults and elderly people from their hoodie café on Sunday.
The youth bus is run in partnership with NHS Public Health, Warwickshire’s Respect Yourself team, the Warwickshire Primary Care Trust and Connexions.
The Leamington Peace Festival is a free festival featuring two entertainment areas, children’s and workshop tents, over 120 stalls – charities, activists, spiritual groups, healers, crafts and fairtraders.
