County Music Service’s sound of summer

Music students from schools in North Warwickshire are tuning up for some special summer performances.

Warwickshire County Music Service’s Northern Area Music Centre concerts will take place later this month to celebrate local musical talent.

Kingsbury School on Tamworth Road, Kingsbury will host the first concert on Monday 27 June at 7pm.  Vocalise, the county girls’ choir will perform and pupils from local primary schools will play in a joint percussion ensemble.

The second concert takes place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 28 June at Queen Elizabeth School and Sports College, Witherley Road, Atherstone.  Junior Strings, Intermediate Brass, Strings & Wind, the newly-formed Area Orchestra and the County Youth Orchestra will all be on the bill.

County Music Service, North Warwickshire Area Manager, Caroline Powell-Brett said: “Our popular summer concerts give pupils from schools across the area the chance to showcase their musical talents.

“We are delighted to have increased the amount of singing in the area and to have started an area band this year who will perform for the first time at this concert.

“All the pupils have worked hard over the year preparing for these performances and we hope the events will be well attended.”

Tickets for the performances, available on the door or from the County Music Service on 01926 742630, are priced at £5 or £3 for concessions.
