Rugby children complete the Big Toddle!

Toddlers from Oakfield Children’s Centre have been raising money for charity as they put their best foot forward for The Barnardo’s Big Toddle.

23 toddlers with their parents walked around Ryton Pools country park for 30 minutes on Tuesday 16 June to help raise funds. All had a great time and enjoyed eating a healthy lunch in the good weather.

The Big Toddle is the UK’s biggest charity event for children under the age of 5. Each year, up to half a million children have great fun with their friends, taking part in their short sponsored walk.

Melanie Evans, Extended Services Cluster Co-ordinator for Rugby said: “The was a great event to organise. The day was a great success and the children had a really good time. All of the children received a certificate and medal as well as a sticker to celebrate their success!

“As well as taking part in the Big Toddle the children were also treated to a healthy lunch, which was funded by the Action and Wellbeing Fund.”

The money raised will go towards projects that help children learn and play. These include family centres, play groups and counselling services across the UK.
