Urgent: Collapsed sewer prompts emergency repair
A collapsed sewer has forced Severn Trent Water to notify Warwickshire County Council of an emergency road closure in Spencer Street, Leamington Spa, to carry out urgent works.
Works got underway at 5pm last night and are expected to take about two weeks to complete.
The works will mean the closure of Spencer Street, and this will have a knock on impact on bus services in the local area.
The south to north facing bus stop outside the Parish Church in Leamington will not be in use while the works are underway. The X17 and 67 services will also not be stopping at the stop outside the old library in Avenue Road.
The county council’s transport team are in talks with Stagecoach to try and ensure as little disruption as possible, and will remain in communication with Severn Trent Water as the works are carried out.
