Careers in the spotlight
Top business brains are working with Year 10 students from Bilton School tomorrow to help give an insight into the working world.
Tomorrow will see Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, part of Warwickshire County Council, run a Careers Event and an Enterprise Event as part of the school’s Activity Day.
During the morning the students will have a series of Careers Workshops run by a variety of local businesses including Quartzelec, Jaguar Landrover, Asda, Rugby Borough Council, Rolls Royce, Royal Navy and Brethertons Solicitors who will be talking to the students about their careers and professions and working life.
After lunch the students will have the opportunity to run their own ‘American Diner’ business for the afternoon, when they will promote the opening night of their diner and try to make a profit by manufacturing and selling chip cones.
The students will cover many aspects of business enterprise through the fast paced activity including supply and demand, financial literacy, and balancing risk. Local businesses will again be on hand to give help and advice and a winning team will be announced at 3.15pm.
This event is organised by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, as their commitment towards helping students of all ages become better prepared for the world of work.
